Palm Paper Limited (PM7) is the UK site for the Palm Group based in King’s Lynn, manufacturing graphic papers. PM7 is the widest, largest and most powerful newsprint machine in the world with the capacity to produce 400,000 metric tonnes of newsprint, improved newsprint and magazine grades per annum.

About the Apprenticeship

A 3 year programme, achieving a Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification with an electrical bias
Working on site Monday to Friday
Attend College of West Anglia in King’s Lynn once a week
Progress into a junior engineer position
Starting in summer 2025

About you

Excellent communication skills, well organised and motivated to independent studies
A minimum of English and Maths GCSE grade 9-4 / A*-C
Be living and eligible to work in the UK
Good IT Skills, in particular MS Office applications
Interest in electrical theory and practical application

What you will learn:

Condition monitoring of process equipment
Routine maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment and components (motors, sensors, actuators)
Gain understanding of automated systems and process control programming
Develop diagnostic skills for troubleshooting and fault finding
Gain knowledge of engineering theories and principles
Understand the maintenance and operational practices as well as site procedures and policies around working safely
