The plant in Eltmann, near Bamberg, was chosen because of its excellent motorway connections and close proximity to the Main-Danube canal; it also has its own railway sidings. For its annual production of 550,000 tonnes newsprint this mill uses exclusively waste paper.
The steam required for the production is generated using environmentally-friendly natural gas. Since the end of 2007 our company-owned power plant supplies this site with electricity and steam from a combined heat and power system.
